Spring Hill continues to punch above its weight in Tennessee’s economic story. The latest signal?
 
Ultium Cells, a GM–LG joint venture, is expanding its Spring Hill battery plant to include production of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells—a cost-effective, durable battery that will help power the next wave of electric vehicles.

This builds on more than $4 billion already invested in the Spring Hill site, which spans 2.8 million square feet and employs over 1,300 people.
